　　首先，我谨代表杜鲁门总统图书馆祝贺你在江西师范大学隆重举办彭友善先生书画展。同时我也向胡莘女士表示祝贺，祝贺他的新作《彭友善传》正式出版。我们将把你们寄来的这本力作存入我们的博物馆，作为将来的参考书使用。
　　每天早上起床后，我总觉得自己很荣幸，能看到你丈夫送的最漂亮的画。“欢欣鼓舞”这幅画是一幅巨作，这是因为他不仅画工精心，而且描绘了自由与幸福的气氛。当年马歇尔将军在1946年第一次看到这幅画时，我想他也会有同感。我可以肯定杜鲁门总统在接受到这副重要并是有象征性的礼品时，他会非常高兴的。
