艺术的第四观 —— 林毅个展《镜界》策展寄语

面对一个艺术家,微观看其作品的技法、配色、布局,宏观看其表达的人生、价值和世界。三观契合,就会喜欢。在艺术与科技高度融合的话题甚嚣尘上的当下,很多艺术家会被灵魂拷问:你元宇宙了吗?这个问题,不仅涉及艺术家的数字创作能力,而且事关他/她灵感输出的前卫性。换言之,艺术家必须具备艺术第四观——宇宙观,才能跟上时代飞奔的脚步,逃脱科技海啸对落后艺术理念的吞噬。
Meeting with an artist, we look at the technique, color matching and layout of his works from the micro perspective, and look at the life, value and world expressed by him from the macro perspective. If the three views agree, we will like it. At a time when the topic of the high integration of art and technology is rampant, many artists will be tortured by their souls: have you hugged Metaverse? This problem is not only related to the artist's digital creative ability, but also related to the avant-garde of his / her inspiration output. In other words, artists must have the fourth view of Art - the view of the universe in order to keep up with the pace of the times and escape the swallowing of backward artistic ideas by the tsunami of science and technology.

这次给林毅先生举办的还是一个以架上作品为主的传统个展,但我们仍想宣称,这个展览是充满艺术第四观的。此次出展的作品全部来自林毅2021年创作的《镜界》系列,这个名字也被用来命名本次个展。与潮流完全无关,该系列的灵感取自于1954年某位美国作家提出的平行宇宙理论。不过,与本系列作品创作同期推出的元宇宙概念,却好像显著地加快了这个世界变化的速度。区块链的数字孪生技术,可以把现实世界的信息通过数字映射到另一个与你有关的虚拟世界中;脸书变成了Meta之后建立了平行世界,于是你的形象在另一个虚拟世界里过着卡通而精彩的日子;最新的全息影像技术,让虚拟的数字人物在现实世界中活灵活现。元宇宙的出现,目的就是为了让我们的生存空间成倍增加,让内生连接的两个界面以不同的方式、不同的哲理演绎着不同的生存法则。或许大家会觉得这些镜面对称效果,只有高科技才能充分地展现出来,平面绘画根本无法实现,但林毅却想用他《镜界》系列作品的表现力来否决这种肤浅的看法。
The exhibition for Mr. Lin Yi is still a traditional solo exhibition focusing on works on shelves, but we still want to claim that this exhibition is full of the fourth concept of art. The works in this exhibition are all from the "Parallel Worlds" series created by Lin Yi in 2021. This name is also used to entitle this solo exhibition. It has nothing to do with the trend. The inspiration of this series comes from the parallel universe theory put forward by an American writer in 1954. However, the concept of metaverse launched at the same time as the creation of this series of works seems to have significantly accelerated the pace of changes in the world. The digital twin technology of blockchain can digitally map the information of the real world to another virtual world related to us; After became Meta, Facebook established a parallel world, so our image lives a cartoon and wonderful life in another virtual world; The latest holographic image technology makes virtual digital characters vivid in the real world. The purpose of the emergence of the metaverse is to multiply our living space and make the two interfaces of endogenous connection deduce different survival laws in different ways and philosophies. Perhaps we will think that these mirror symmetry effects can be fully displayed only with high technology, and plane painting can not be realized at all, but Lin Yi wants to use the expressiveness of his series of works in the Parallel Worlds to reject this superficial view.

此次出展作品,均采用中心轴水平对称的格局,仿佛人的左右脑进行博弈的状态。大多数的画面里又非刻意地给出了地平线的痕迹,这条线要么水平居中要么处在黄金分割的位置。另外,若是仔细观察,我们还会发现每幅作品中还蕴含了中心爆发、对角线构图的均衡态势。所以,林毅这个系列的作品,从结构上来说,都是几近完美的。色彩方面,林毅的出手非常大胆,红配绿,黄配蓝,还有粉色参杂其间,但这些大俗的搭配并没有让人生厌的感觉,似乎对光拧动了万花筒,自然而然,让你没的挑剔,反而生出些许大雅的意思。还有值得一提的就是光泽的使用,林毅把玻璃器皿来具备的色泽用到了画面中,比如湖泊、熔岩、水珠、海浪、脑电波,甚至一些不可能出现光影晃动的地方,比如山峦、树林、岩石、爆炸的尘埃,都因为波光粼粼而如梦似幻。林毅在作品中放置的人型,可谓点睛之笔,他们或做探索状、或作困惑状、或作凛然状、或作抗争状,或作闲适状,这些都是艺术家想表达的,人类面对环境、科技和世界格局变化时,个体的渺小和无奈,以及他们尚存的一丝希望。
The works in this exhibition adopt the pattern of horizontal symmetry of the central axis, as if people's left and right brains were playing games. In most pictures, the trace of the horizon is unintentionally given, which is either horizontally centered or in the golden section. In addition, if we observe carefully, we will find that each work also contains the balanced situation of central explosion and diagonal composition. Therefore, the works of Lin Yi's series are almost perfect in terms of structure. In terms of color, Lin Yi's moves are very bold. Red matches green, yellow matches blue, and pink are mixed. However, these vulgar collocations do not make people feel bored. It seems that they twist the kaleidoscope to the light. Naturally, we feel some elegant meaning rather than being picky. It is also worth mentioning the use of luster. Lin Yi used the color of glassware in the picture, such as lakes, lava, water droplets, waves, brain waves, and even some places where light and shadow shaking is impossible, such as mountains, woods, rocks and explosive dust, which are dreamlike because of the sparkling waves. Lin Yi's human forms in his work can be described as the finishing touch. They are either exploratory, confused, awe inspiring, struggling, or leisure. These are what the artist wants to express. When human beings face the changes of environment, technology and world pattern, the individual's smallness and helplessness, as well as the glimmer of hope they still have.

平面作品表达环境、科技和世界格局的变化的能力毕竟还是有限的,所以林毅特意为本次个展制作了所有作品的动视图像,还为这些图像配置了音效,非常生动。可见优秀的艺术家,已经开始为元宇宙下起了功夫。林毅的这些声光电作品,具备相当高的商业实用性,可以直接用来生成游戏或工作场景的背效图。如果能把作品成形的全过程完全展现出来的话,那么这些图像的动视效果会更加炫酷,会让人很想拥有一个如此迷幻的平行世界,并置身其中。这或许应该就是艺术家在元宇宙中所要发挥的作用吧!
After all, the ability of graphic works to express the changes of environment, technology and world pattern is still limited. Therefore, Lin Yi specially produced moving images of all works for this solo exhibition, and configured sound effects for these images, which is very vivid. It can be seen that excellent artists have begun to work hard for the metaverse. These acousto-optic works of Lin Yi have high commercial practicability and can be directly used to generate back effect pictures of games or work scenes. If the whole forming process of the works can be fully displayed, the dynamic visual effect of these images will be more fantastic, and people will want to have such a psychedelic parallel world and be in it. Perhaps this should be the role of artists in the metaverse!
