前言

“1+N项目”是深圳美术馆主办的一个集教育性、学术性和互动性于一体的年度系列艺术活动。该项目从公共教育的理念出发，根据深圳美术馆的学术定位，通过1+N（N>1）的模式，从各种艺术创作材质和媒介出发，开展一系列艺术活动，包括展览、讲座、艺术面对面、艺术家工作坊等，通过活动一方面向公众呈现优秀的艺术作品，扩充艺术史知识；另一方面，梳理当代艺术的发展，呈现当代艺术的创作现状，特别是展现当代深圳本土艺术创作的成果和现状以及新的创作转向。

“1+N项目”本次活动把目光投向在深圳生活工作的外国艺术家和文化学者，他们也是深圳本土当代艺术创作的重要组成者。如一(Riet van der Linden)是一位在深圳生活了四年的荷兰籍艺术家。她的作品是对“现成品”的再创造，通过将收集来的废弃纸板箱、包装盒展开，依据其形状、纹路、折叠痕迹等用色彩和肌理变化的方式，创作出丰富多样、趣味十足的艺术作品。本展览的名字“开盒”(英文“Out of the Box”)，暗指如一的这些作品首先是通过展开纸盒而来，仿佛本就暗藏在闭合的纸盒中，只是被艺术家翻转了出来。然而在经过艺术家之手的润饰后，盒子从造型、内容到功用都改变了：一个有着承载、包装功能的盒子，在被拆开，废弃之后，得以被艺术的手法重新赋予价值，又能用于装饰空间，美化生活。如一称之为“再循环”，开合间，自己也感受到惊喜与感动。

艺术家介绍

Riet van der Linden如一女士是一位荷兰艺术家及作家，主要工作基地设在法国Bourg sur Gironde和中国深圳。

鉴于艺术历史学的教育背景，她曾参与二十世纪八十年代初的荷兰女性艺术运动(Stichting Vrouwen in de Beeldende Kunst, 阿姆斯特丹, 荷兰)，还举办了关于讨论女性主义的展览、座谈以及研习会。从1982年开始她便成为一名编辑，并于1991-1995年间担任Ruimte（荷兰女性艺术杂志）的主编。她是国际妇女艺术组织(IAWA)和朱迪思来斯特基金会（专为资深女艺术家颁奖）的联合创始人兼主席。1993年，她与Kitty Zijlmans教授合作设计了荷兰莱登大学的女性主义艺术历史课程。1995年如一女士被任命为美国芝加哥伊利诺伊大学艺术与设计学课程的客座教授。

2005年是如一女士的人生转折点，她搬到了法国，成为了一名独立的艺术家。2014年12月，如一女士的全新工作室在中国深圳成立。

Preface

“1+N”programme is a series of art activities that based on educational, academic and interactive purpose, organized byShenzhen Art Museum. Proceeding from public educational concept, emphasis on Shenzhen art museum’s academic target, through 1+N（N>1）, start from various media and methods, we have launched diverse art activities, including exhibition,lecture, artist talk, workshop. On one hand, the programme intend to present extraordinary art works to public, to extend art history knowledge; on the other hand, to research on contemporary art development and to present artists’practice status, especially shows Shenzhen contemporary art practice achievement and status and new direction.

On this exhibition, “1+N”programme turns eyes to foreign artists and researchers who live andwork in Shenzhen recently. They are also an important part of Shenzhen contemporary art practice. Riet van der Linden is a Dutch artist who has been living in Shenzhen for nearly four years. Her work is recreation of found object. Through collecting and unfolding abandoned cardboard box, Riet recreates rich and varied, humorous artwork by using colours and making art effects based on its original form, wrinkles and folding traces. The title of this exhibition “Out of the box” suggests that the process of creating the artwork by unfolding the cardboard box, as though the works were hidden inside of the closed box, Riet had just turned it out. However, after retouching by the artist’s hands, itsform, content and function have been changed: A box that was originally acted asa container and package, once being unfolded it was then been abandoned, but now it has been revalued by artistic method, and can be reused in decorating spaceand embellishing life. Riet remarked as “recycling”, and between the open and close action, ones also can be surprised and touched.
