Liao Kai`s Feelings about the Long March

　　There has been a set of sculptures displayed in the Zunyi Conference Memorial Museum. This set of work is 4.5 meters high, 16.2 meters long. It is the combination of relief and full relief. The sculptures include the figures of 20 historical men, who had been shining and illustrious throughout the history. Visitors from different cities and countries, would watch and appreciate this sculpture for a long period of time every day.

　　This set of sculptures named "Turning Point in History", was created by our provincial sculptor, Liao Kai, in honour of "Zunyi Conference", the special historical transition period at the 70th anniversary of the victory of the Long March by the invitation of the Zunyi Conference Memorial.

　　On December 6, Liao Kai received the notice from the Royal British Society of Sculptors. He was admitted to the society officially based on the six works including "Turning Point in History". The Royal British Society of Sculptors is recognized as the top professional association by the circle of sculpture around the world. Only the sculptors who have a remarkable achievement in the field of sculpture are able to take part in the society.

　　"Turning Point in History" is also my turn.

　　Liao Kai created a group of statues of **** in the former residence for Zunyi Conference Memorial Museum by chance. This group of statues was very successful, obtained a good reputation from various aspects.  At that time Zunyi Conference Memorial Museum was going to be enlarged, The expansion project includes the scheme that the sculpture of the great historical event was going to be created. Originally, this group of sculptures was going to be created by some famous sculptors from the country. But because of the success of the statues of ****, officials asked Liao Kai to do the work.

　　So Liao Kai accepted the task: to create the group of sculptures named "Turning Point in History" for Zunyi Conference Memorial Museum. "Turning Point in History is an important thing in Chinese history, It is also an important turning point in my life" Liao Kai described the work that made him gain considerable fame in this way.

　　Finding the correct orientation

　　After creating   "Turning point in History", Liao Kai became more and more  passionate for the Long March .Then he created  "Angry Tide in the South of Guizhou",  "4 Times Crossing Chishui River " with the subject of the Long March .At present,   Liao Kai is positioning his art direction to "the Long March subject", He plans to create more and more sculptures based on historical events of the Long March to express the spirt of the Long March.
