Art-More Space将于2016年8月20日与艺术无国界基金会联合举办 “时差：陌生与熟悉” 联展。参加本次展览的是拥有着不同地域文化背景的 8 位艺术家——来自美国的康妮可(妮可 · 康顿)，来自英国的博凯(西林 · 布里克)、马腾飞(马丁 · 德贝夏尔)和查理 · 杜腾，来自西班牙的卡洛斯 · 塞巴斯蒂安，来自日本的福原健三郎、法国的伊莎贝尔 · 厄沃尔，以及中国的温阔。这些均在北京生活、创作的艺术家，他们身处这座位于东八区的都城之中，以各自的方式记录北京历史和现实的变幻冲突，并洞察着因地理和文化多样性而触发的陌生和熟悉。

　　Arts Without Borders Foundation is sincerely to announce the exhibition co-organized with Art-More Space， titled “(Shí Chā) Equation of Time： Strange and Familiar” on August 20th。 The group exhibition presents eight artists with distinctive regional and cultural backgrounds。 They are Nicole Condon-Shih (USA)， Celyn Bricker (UK)， Martin Derbyshire (UK)， Charlie Dutton (UK)， Carlos Sebastia (Spain)， Kenzaburo Fukuhara (Japan)， Isabelle Urvoy-Fukuhara (France)， and Wen Kuo (China)。 All Beijing-based， these artists create their works in their own ways to reveal the change and conflict of history and reality in Beijing (UTC+8)， as well as apperceive the strangeness and familiarity of the capital city triggered by the diversity of geography and culture。

　　时差(Shí Chā)，在地理意义上，指两个地区地方时之间的差别;天文学意义上则指平太阳时和真太阳时的差，即来自日晷和钟表的时间差异。本次展览的诸多作品在主题上与展览的中英文名称暗合，呈现出“时差”(Shí Chā)一词隐伏于语义中的多维度趋向——由地域差异驱策而生的多元文化“对视”和“错置”之外，在北京这一层次丰富的城市剖面上不可忽视的内部“时差”也被囊括到展览的范畴中。

　　In the sense of geography， Shí Chā (time difference) indicates difference of the local time between two regions; while in the sense of astronomy， Shí Chā (the equation of time) describes the discrepancy between the apparent solar time and the mean solar time， that is， the time deviation between a sundial and asteady clock set。 There are some hidden links between the Chinese and English exhibition titles and the subjects of most artworks on display in the exhibition， which demonstrates the multidimensional tendency merging unobtrusively in the semantics of Shí Chā。 Besides the multicultural “eye contact” and “dislocation” instigated by geographic disparities， the non-negligible “internal Shí Chā” exits in Beijing， an inclusive and multi-layered city， is also included into the scope of the exhibition。

　　这种由显著的社会文化区隔引发的城市“内部时差”根植于城市的历史和区域的不均衡发展之中。北京自都心向郊外辐射的繁衍过程，正是伴随着新中有旧、旧中有新的内在“错置”。如同天文学意义上的时差，现实所处的时间和时代发展的对位时间开始出现偏差。本次展览的参展作品中亦不乏以关照这一社会现实为切口的探索。通过创作，艺术家在进入中国社会的反观中重构历史和现实的空间，并重塑着自身的文化想象。

　　This kind of “internal Shí Chā”caused by significant social and cultural segmentation has been deeply anchored in unbalanced historical and regional development of the city。 Beijing’s expansion， from the urban core radiating to its suburb， is accompanied with the internal “dislocation” with a fusion of new items and old items。 Similar to Shí Chā in the sense of astronomy， discrepancy between the time of reality and the time of the developing age has emerged。 Several selected works in the exhibition refer to the social problem as the start point of artistic exploration。 Through the artworks， the artists reconstruct the space of history and reality when looking backward to China’s society， as well as rebuilding the cultural imagination。

　　6 个国家，5 个时区，6 种文化，8 位艺术家——当不同时区、不同地域的文化汇集于一地，很难说，面对轨道倾角(文化错位)引发的日晷和钟表间的“时间差”——这由非中国艺术家携各自文化观落地北京后形成的“文化时差”，该如何判定东西文化差异的轨道在反转进程中倾角的指向。一夕间，确也在模棱两可的暧昧中难以分辨。

　　Six countries， five time zones， six cultures， and eight artists – when cultures in different time zones and different regions gather in one place， it is hard say， when facing the Shí Chā between a sundial and a steady clock set caused by orbital inclination (cultural dislocation) - that is the “Cultural Shí Chā” taken shape after the non-Chinese artists landed in Beijing with their own cultures， how to determine the point of orbital inclination brought about by the discrepancy of the Eastern and Western cultures in the process of reversing? At this moment， it is hard to be distinguished in the ambiguousness。
