周桂珍的紫砂作品大气、豁达、洒脱中也蕴含着女性的秀丽与和美。近代的艺术大师中如刘海粟 (雅昌指数59↑) 、朱屺瞻、冯其庸等都曾在周桂珍的壶上题诗作画。与韩美林、张守智的合作，更引领了紫砂的新风。中国国家博物馆、中国工艺美术馆、南京博物馆院、香港茶具文物馆、台湾历史博物馆，都相继收藏她的紫砂作品。她所制作的集玉壶，1978年曾被选为邓小平首次访问日本的国家礼品，其制作的曼生提梁壶则被中南海紫光阁选作陈列工艺品。

周桂珍的艺术，具有最明显的两个特色，一个是扎实的功力、严谨的制作，她可以细到毫巅，严到极处。这一方面，可以说她是接受了顾景舟大师的真传；但另一方面，她的艺术，又有以往的紫砂艺人所少有的自由气息，她既可以严守绳墨，又可以不守绳墨。她的严守绳墨是因为艺术的需要，她的不守绳墨也是为艺术的需要，为的是要突破常规，独辟新径。由于前者，她可能无愧地称是顾老的嫡派传人，由于后者，她又可以说是顾老艺术的发展、创新、突破，最后达到超越。
