微言软语——高孝午的雕塑微言

  托之水土,以拟尘相。

  高孝午在798实施“软暴力”展览,以塑造来表达世相百态、社会民生等一系列社会问题。

  雕塑象文章一样往往被称之为载道之乘,所荷太重,于至微言继博而起。特别是对来于草根的民间声音,虽发聩震耳,但表达我们的声音还是那么无语。这点上,高孝午似乎把他的雕塑视为他的微博,用宏大来微博之,表达我们日常中的所见所感。他的雕塑警醒我们日常惯性、利益趋指的生活态势,直指人类生存的软肋,以至于人在灾难面前,束手无策,全球变“软”。

  高孝午的作品自《标准时代》、《城市梦想》之后,一改笑咪咪的表情,很严肃地以“课题性”来观照之、思考之、创作之。新作《软暴力》、《排泄物》、《样板》、《出入》等系列作品更自觉地深入到世相的当下中,让我们读取他的雕塑的“微言软语”。

Subtle language and soft words--Gao Xiaowu’s sculpture world

  Taking advantage of water and clay to express one's emotion and depict the world.

  This is Gao Xiaowu and his latest “Soft Violence” exhibition in 798, reviewing his life and the society with sculpture works.

  Sculptures are just like articles, carrying and conveying the author’s idea and concept. As voices from the common people are hard to be heard for each other, Gao Xiaowu takes sculptures as his own microblogging to express what he experiences and feels. His works are targeted on the profit-oriented life status of us which talks both about the Achilles' heel of mankind and the weakness of the world in face of disasters.

  Gao Xiaowu has changed his style since works of Standard Times and City Dream, which enjoy the same signature of smiling faces. Now, he’s more serious, starting to think, set tasks before creating works. The latest works of Soft Violence, Chromosome, Model and Discrepancy turned out to be more closely connected to the society and daily life while the emotions are hidden behind the sculptures.

  Thus, by understanding the profound language of Gao Xiaowu’s sculptures, will help us to figure out why it becomes soft so quickly.
