We know well that behind its lofty couture and elaborate shows lies a tragic emptiness, and yet still the fleeting moment achieves a certain glory. As Chinese contemporary art becomes more and more mainstream, it burns brighter than ever, bursting with energy and pride, no longer doomed to the tragic vicissitudes of the past. We the people can today ascend the ramparts of an vacated city and witness the flames as they burn out.After extreme brightness follows the beauty and tragedy of emptiness. After the dominoes all that remains is the reduced shadow of the onlookers. All things must end in destruction.
