French producer Mathieu Bompoint has been engaged in film production for many years. This time he will share his valuable experience and his art concepts with us, and also discuss the two short films screening which are selections from EU Short Film Tour Asia 2017 brought by Sinapses Asia on 10th December 2017 in OCAT Shanghai.

From 24 November to 22 December 2017, Sinapses Asia and its partners are proud to bring again to China 6 European short films for the 5th EU Short Films Tour Asia. The screenings, workshops, film shooting, award and other activities will happen in over 12 cities, including Beijing, Chengdu, Nanjing, Shanghai, Shenzhen.

5 of the 6 short films have been provided by The European Film Academy and their producers/distributors. They were all finalists for the European Film Awards 2016 (12 December 2016, in Berlin). The French film has been selected with Unifrance.

About the Speaker

Mathieu Bompoint graduated from the European Business School HEC Paris (école des Hautes Etudes Commerciales de Paris) in 1997, he started to work in development, post-production and executive production for 10 years. He worked with Frédérique Dumas (at Noé Productions from 1997 to 2003) and Sylvie Pialat (at Les Films du Worso until 2008). In 2004, he created his own firm: Mezzanine Films, and produced more than forty short films (realized by Maud Alpi, Cécile Bicler, Hervé Coqueret, Laurent Laffargue, Louis Garrel). Lots of them have been awarded in prestigious French and International festivals such as Directors' Fortnight in Cannes (La Quinzaine), Clermont Film Festival, Brest, New-York, Venice, Seoul... He is also a member and founder of Mezzanine Admin. Finally, he has been elected at the feature-length movie bureau of the SPI: the French Independent Producers Union.

About EU Short Film Tour Asia

Sinapses Asia Ltd created the EU Short Film Tour Asia (EUSFT Asia) in 2013 in order to promote European short film and culture in Asia. The aim of EUSFT Asia is to bring to Asian film audience award-winning short films which show the diversity of the European cinema and culture.
