杨千的艺术触角总是深入到社会个体的生存基点,所以总的来说他选用的视觉方式是当代的,图像基础是当代的,是忠实于视觉真实的。在承接传统平面绘画这种传统的艺术语言的同时,杨千采用了综合媒介的方式以强化艺术的表现力。他的很多作品是以双重绘画、活动绘画的形态出现,营造出了一片超越媒介界限的视觉气氛,使艺术形象具有强烈的立体感和整体的空间效果。
而作为一个艺术家个案,我们看到在杨千的艺术探索中回应了许多中国当代艺术的普遍性问题:当代艺术的媒介问题、材料与观念的问题、当代艺术与当代社会的问题等等。这种介于自觉与不自觉之间的回应更加说明了当代艺术在挑战写实主义和形式主义的主宰地位的同时,并不意味着忽略形式的重要性或不断重复一种形式,而是在不断丰富形式的内涵,扩大形式的外延。
Yang Qian's artistic antenna always can deeply reach into the fundamental existing points of social individuals,thus in summary,the viewing angles he chose is contemporary,the foundations of the images is also contemporary and they are honest to the visual authenticity. He inherited the traditional flat painting artistic language,but at the same time,also adapted comprehensive media methods to strengthen his artistic expression. Lots of his works were appeared in the forms of double-painting,moving-painting,created a cross–media visual atmosphere providing the artistic image with strong stereo perception and completed space effect.
As an individual artist,we saw Yang Qian responded to many general problems occurred in China contemporary art through his artistic pursuing: the media issues for contemporary art; the problem between materials and concepts; the topic between contemporary art and society,etc.,The responses with or without consciousness further explained although contemporary art is challenging Realism and Formalism's leading position,it doesn't mean contemporary art will either ignore the importance of forms or repeat the same form,it is mean to enrich the meaning of the form,and extend its boundary.
