“陶谷公园”作为陶谷公园的同名展览，希望借南朝方士陶弘景在此地缥缈的“历史记录”（“陶谷”地名的来源，陶弘景一度在此隐居）来描绘陶谷公园的古今轮廓。四方当代美术馆从其一贯的城市历史/空间研究出发，参与策划了本次项目。

“陶谷”，是隐匿在俗世空间之外的不可知角落的一种历史象征和残留，及笼罩在南京这座城市上的一层迷雾，也是陶谷公园能量传承的来源。“公园”是敞开的，友爱的，尽管有时因为汇集了不同身份的人物而显得有些嘈杂。于是“陶谷公园”就成了两种状态的含混，那些忧郁的个体似乎就在这含混之中徘徊不前。

展厅便因此被分成了两个部分。在主展厅，画廊的基本形态依旧，如同一座被草木掩映的花园。作品的内容多是人物、地形和植物，观众也如同置身公园，在此驻足、走神、打转。在另一侧，“陶谷”的能量场将被召唤，最后被一件空间定制作品占据，它的能量将透过狭窄缝隙渗透到主展厅中。

艺术在此也成为一种比喻，它似乎是陶弘景所求山中仙药，被用以疗愈处于普遍焦虑中的人心。在展览以外，我们“再次”试图去沟通艺术机构/系统与社区的联系，尽管在目前的语境下，这一点变得更加不确定，甚至有些不切实际，毕竟在这3个月中，我们目睹了太多的区隔、分离和撕裂。但是正如陶谷公园这一机构成立的初衷，我们希望借这个展览，为大家提供一个暂别现实的时刻和空间，在由历史、神话、艺术交织成的花园中漫步畅神。

With the same name of TOKU Park , the exhibition try to portray fascinating historical development of this place by a wizard named Tao Hongjing of the Southern Dynasty who left some extremely mysterious “history records” (the source of Toku’s place name and Tao lived there in seclusion). Sifang Art Museum who have consistently excellent performance in doing research of history and interspace of city participates this project as well.

 

Toku, a surviving symbol of history, hiding in a invisible corner of ordinary world and we see mist in this city ,Nanjing, feeling its power from inheritance. Although it might be a little bit noisy because of gathering people in different status, park still represent a concept of open and friendly. Therefore, TOKU Park formed mixed form which consists of these two different state and those who lost seem to be surrounded in, pacing up and down.

 

The exhibition hall is divided into two main parts. In the main hall, the gallery will keep its basic form like a garden with grass green. The artistic work will mostly be human, topography and plants. People may feel like be in a real park, stop their step, drifting away and linger. In another part of the hall, the room is occupied by space customized work, the power of TOKU is summoned, going through narrow gaps and permeates in the main hall.

 

Here, art becomes a kind of metaphor, it more likes those magical medicine in the mountain TaoHongjing struggling to seek for, which were used to cure those in anxiety. Besides the exhibition, we try again discuss connection between art system and community although it becomes more unsure and unrealistic in the present situation. We saw too much distinction, separation and split after all in the last 3 months. But as what TOKU Park established for at the very beginning, we hope we can provide people with a space where they may escape from reality momentarily by this exhibition and enjoy taking a walk in our garden made up of history, myth and art.

陶谷公园丨TOKU Gallery 

陶谷公园TOKU Gallery 成立于2018年4月。空间坐落于南京市汉口路陶谷新村，是一间致力于当代艺术的综合实验艺术空间，开馆以来已经举办二十余场艺术家展览及文艺活动。空间积极发掘和推广年轻艺术家并长期关注、合作东西方当代艺术家。以开放性的姿态去探讨当代艺术的各类艺术形态，用多元化的语言为艺术爱好者、从业者以及藏家、机构提供各项艺术展览及收藏服务，并促进当代艺术的交流与进步。

TOKU Gallery was founded in April 2018，located in Taoguxincun，Hankou Road, Nanjing. The gallery is a comprehensive experimental art space dedicated to contemporary art. It has hosted more than twenty exhibitions and artistic activities. The gallery actively discovers and cultivates young artists. It also pays attention to contemporary artists around the world and collaborates with them. TOKU Gallery explores various art forms with an open mind, providing art services for art aficionados, practitioners, collectors and organizations.
