　　八十年代末，先后毕业于北京一些艺术院校的华庆、张大力、牟森、高渡、张念、康木等人，放弃国家分配，以“盲流”身份寄住在圆明园附近的娄斗桥一带，成了京城较早的一拨流浪艺术家。吴文光早年拍摄的电影《流浪北京》记录了当时这些人的部分生活状态。他们那种自由择业的勇气，撼动了户籍制度的基石，成了后来更多的艺术家流浪北京、选择自由职业的样板。当时他们都是居住在圆明园附近，以此为创作与生活的根据地，形成了“圆明园艺术家村”的最早雏形。1990年，曾经参与报道京城流浪艺术家的《中国美术报》原工作人员田彬、丁方等人，因其报社解体，也都纷纷撤退出来，与方力钧、伊灵等艺术家一起迁到了福缘门村画画，从而形成了一个艺术家聚集的群落。这就是“圆明园艺术家村”的历史序幕。此后，随着序幕的拉开，越来越多的流浪艺术家纷至沓来，“另类”的生活方式加之个别艺术家在国际舞台上的成功，吸引了许多媒体的关注，“圆明园艺术家村”的称呼便不胫而走，渐渐成为了一个文化象征。

　　“圆明园艺术家村”既出现了像方力钧、杨少斌、岳敏君这样的中国当代艺术的领军人物，也有一大批以艺术的名义寻求生活自由的人。他们的艺术创作和生活模式成了现今宋庄，798等艺术家村和艺术园区德发源地。

　　The late 1980s,some have graduated from the Beijing art institutions Huaqing, Zhang vigorously, Musen, high waves, Zhangnian, Culture and Sport, such as wood, to give up national distribution, “Mangllu” as host in the vicinity of the Yuanmingyuan Lou Doo Kiu, Became the capital earlier Yibo street artists. Wu Wenguang early shooting the film “stray Beijing,” the record of some of these people then living conditions. Their careers free of courage, shake the foundation of the household registration system, more artists later became vagrants in Beijing, freedom of choice of career model. At that time, they are living in the vicinity of the Yuanmingyuan, the creation and life as a base to form a “Yuanmingyuan artist village,” the earliest embryonic form. 1990, reports Beijing had been involved in street artists “Chinese Art”former staff TIAN Bin, the small side, who, because of the disintegration of newspapers, are all out retreat, and Fang Lijun, Ealing and other artists to move to the Fuk Mun Village margin of paint, creating a community of artists. This is the “Yuanmingyuan artist village,” the history of the curtain. Since then,as the curtain opened, an increasing number of street artists to pour in, “alternative” way of life plus individual artists in the international art arena's success, attracting a lot of media attention, “Yuanmingyuan artist village”called it Bujingerzou, gradually become a cultural symbol. “Yuanmingyuan artist village,” both appeared as Fang Lijun and Yang Shaobin,Yue Minjun the Chinese contemporary art leader, but also a large number of art life in the name of freedom for the people. Their artistic creation, and life has become today Songzhuang, 798 Village artists such as the birthplace of the park and the arts.
