Yasumasa Yonehara was born in 1959 in Kumamoto Ken and currently based in Tokyo. A scan of the current Asia-based pop culture icons, Yasumasa Yonehara (YONE) stands out handsomely. The versatile YONE is a Japan-based photographer, magazine editor, and DJ, who has been exhibiting his photographic works across the globe extensively since 2017. YONE has been a radar of the visually strong and the trends on the street since 1996, serving as the chief editor for Japan-based art magazines, also slowly building a career as a figurative/celebrity photographic artist. His famed art projects range from working alongside with pop idol AKB48 to full-scaled exhibitions in Taiwan, Shanghai and Europe. Lucie Chang Fine Arts and L+ are pleased to announce a brand new architectural series of YONE to this year’s edition of the fair. As a rarely seen genre of YONE’s works, the beautiful sense of architecture and space is a levitating force. Through the manipulated images, YONE revamps his ideas of self-exploration.

Wu Xinmo was born in 1990‭ ‬in the city of Shenyang in Liaoning Province. Wu graduated from the Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts in 2012‭ ‬and now‭ ‬lives and works in Shanghai‭. ‬One of WU's strengths is her use of a variety of media in her practice‭, ‬as well as materials and new media and technology to analyze many different types of hype‭. ‬She is particularly interested in using the context of aesthetics as a means to intervene in social issues‭. ‬Since 2015‭, ‬she began to explore the hidden and murky symbols in nature‭, ‬becoming infatuated by this contradictory state of aesthetic exploration and attempting to apply this concept to intervene in a broader social realm‭.‬‭‬ After the successful solo exhibition Ray is Hong Kong earlier this year, Wu returns to this year’s edition of the fair with Lucie Chang Fine Arts, showcasing the hybrid of films and digital shots, New Concinnity comes with a strong abstract indication and bold color groups, aiming to unveil her month-long exploration of human female bodies and self.

Leh Yunshan (Leh YSL) is a Japanese Kinbaku artist and stylist, who was born in New Zealand and currently lives and works in Beijing. Drawing inspiration from fashion, history and irony, the depiction of women in Leh’s work aim to portray Kinbaku bondage beyond its rudimentary understanding as an erotic or sexual activity. With the objectification of women portrayed in Kinbaku and other forms of BDSM. Leh through her female perspective to aims to show female beauty in her Kinbaku photography. “I think kinbaku can be used to bring out beauty in a women because it allows the girl to be strong and vulnerable all at the same time.” She also encourages viewers to see Kinbaku from an artistic perspective that requires craft and technicality. Not only does Leh perform Kinbaku on her subjects by herself, she combines a variety of other elements in her work. Considering from the music, atmosphere, makeup, composition, and other settings in the process of creating, Leh continues to present Kinbaku as a narrative of intimacy and romance behind her photographs. Lucie Chang Fine Arts is delighted to showcase the Yoco series by Leh YSL this year, which seeks new way to discuss fragility of female sex and life, and blurs the line of fine art and high-culture fashion.
