绘画是艺术家探讨世界问题的方式，也是他们长期的生命活动。对每一个仍然没有放弃画笔的画家而言，世界总是被画框分成了两个：画布上的世界和画布外的世界。与此同时，时代也在猛烈敲打着这两个世界窗户，在后真相时代，每个人都在学习与假新闻共生，图像既是谎言的帮凶，也是真相的守护人。在这样的时代里，作为图像制造者的画家是如何继续创造他们画布上的世界，并如何看待这个世界与现实世界的关系？

Painting is an artistic means of questioning the world, a vital activity in the life of the painter. For those who still haven’t thrown away their brushes, the world has always been divided into two – one on the canvas and the other outside it, and both a reflection of their times. Now, in the post-truth age, when everyone is learning to live with fake news, image is at once the accomplice of the fake and the guardian of the real. Given these conditions, how does a painter, the creator of images, generate his world on canvas and relate it to the one beyond?

张恩利生于1965年，在上海工作。他的标志性语言包括简单的线条、中国画般湿漉漉的薄涂、以及对日常事物和环境的安静、感性的描绘，近期作品以普通风景为主，模糊了再现和表现分别。张恩利曾在伦敦皇家艺术学院、上海民生美术馆、意大利Villa Croce美术馆举办个展，并在巴黎蓬皮杜艺术中心、温哥华美术馆、鲁贝尔家族收藏博物馆等地参与群展。张恩利的作品目前亦在由吕克·图伊曼斯策展的《血红》群展中展出。

Chinese painter Zhang Enli (b.1965) is based in Shanghai. His signature painterly language features simple lines and a thin wash of oil paint with the wet-look of Chinese ink art, a combination quietly illustrating everyday objects, interior surroundings and exterior environments. His recent works are mainly ordinary landscapes that blur the boundaries between representation and expressionism.

吕克・图伊曼斯（Luc Tuymans，比利时，出生于1958年）作为当今最重要的画家之一，被认为对1990年代的绘画复兴做出了重要贡献。图伊曼斯的作品安静、克制，有时又令人不安，其中不仅有对历史及其再现表征问题的探讨，也以一种陌生怪异的方式对日常生活进行了呈现。2001年，图伊曼斯曾代表比利时参加第49届威尼斯双年展，并曾在伦敦现代美术馆、旧金山现代美术馆、多哈卡塔尔美术馆等地举办个展。由图伊曼斯策展的群展《血红》目前正在米兰普拉达基金会展出。明年3月，皮诺收藏将于威尼斯格拉西宫为图伊曼斯举办大型个展。

Widely credited with having contributed to the revival of painting during the 1990s, Belgian artist Luc Tuymans (b.1958) is one of the most important living painters. Quiet, restrained and at times unsettling, his works engage equally with questions of history and its representation as with quotidian subject matter cast in unfamiliar and eerie light.
