Giovanni Lorenzo Bernini, a representative of Baroque, unified all artistic forms including painting, sculpture and architecture, and became the greatest artist in the 17th century. The ancient Chinese sculptures include Terra-Cotta Warriors, tri-colored glazed pottery of the Tang Dynasty, and Ruyao (rare variety of chinaware of the Song Dynasty, so called from the place "Ruzhou" in Henan Province where it was made). Cheng Yajie perfectly combined sculpture with painting through blending the the paintings of sculpture and sculptures of painting with more design conceptions and more obvious process effects. Both Year of the Dragon with Oriental elements and Back from the Overseas with Western elements achieved a great success.

　　Year of the Dragon, a work of totem, depicts a painted pottery Chinese dragon with graceful shape. The dragon with bright color and antique beauty is flying swiftly, which is of tremendous momentum. Chinese dragon still keeps hale and hearty after undergoing thousands of years. The embryo in the middle of painting is breeding a new life, which symbolizes regeneration and indicates that Cheng Yajie has established a brand new Painting School of Las Vegas after integrating Oriental culture with Western art. Cheng Yajie's works, like fairy tales and allegories, use the past to allude to the present, and interpret philosophy of life in an ordinary way. The flying dragon in Year of the Dragon, the ancient pottery horse in Revelation of the Dark Horse and the horse's head and pokers in Code 1991 all contain a profound message.
