　　序言

　　策展人 孙晓晨

　　假使，把艺术看成一股可以流动的能量，在籍由艺术家将其转移或是导入某种物质。创作与观看过程存在某种转译以及偶发因素都会形成这股能量的损耗。基于此分析，当下主要有两种观点。其一，认为传导过程需要做到相对精准。其二，更看重在完整的艺术活动中所引起社会影响的总和，这种观点已然成为当代艺术展览及其艺术实践的主流认知。因此，当我们将“精确与极致”作为唯一标尺的时候，就会去追求最小损失甚至是零阻状态。这样的设定，即是艺术的“超导”。显然，对精确的追求在当下是冷僻的，但趣味亦在于此。

　　纵观陶瓷艺术发展史，我们不难发现陶瓷艺术家对于“极致”追求的偏好尤为突出。两宋时，就连看似简单的器型都是艺匠们通过手的感知经验来修正与鉴赏者千百年来反复商榷而形成的。当历史车轮迈进现当代艺术之后，看似是放弃了这种“精确与极致”。其实不然，艺术家们只是将方向转向了另一种“极致”。历史的偶然性让杜尚选择了一个陶瓷工艺的小便器完成了对于艺术体制的批判。而这种对于观念的极致传达，实际上已然超越了材料本身的限制，以至在“穆特”出现近半个世纪后，美国艺术家罗伯特·安纳森再次用陶瓷完成了纯粹观念的表达。

　　尽管我们深知对极致的追求难以企及且会徒劳无功，并且艺术家们最终都会逐步形成各自新的转向。无论如何转向，但有一点是确切的——“极致”的态度可以离“超导”更加接近。

　　卡塔琳娜·博星

　　1951年生于德国的汉堡市。1975年毕业于设计专业。1981年她拥有了自己的工作室，第一年工作室主要生产洁具和授课。之后的一年她留在苏格兰开始制作艺术陶瓷，90年代在托瓦尔和委内瑞拉开始尝试乐烧。从2000年起，她一直致力于发展陶瓷产业结构化，她把亚光色用在她的手工瓷器上，并把它延伸到粘土上把作品做到极致。2002年在日本的福井县建立了示范和交流的陶瓷工业研究室，2010年在土耳其的梅尔辛大学艺术系组织了陶艺家交流活动。2013年她参加了在丹麦举办的丹麦和德国艺术家的陶瓷艺术研讨会，之后这个研讨会2014年在德国北弗里斯兰，2015年在丹麦举办。2014年她还参加了在土耳其奥林波斯举办的国际艺术工作坊和在中国淄博举办的macsabal国际木火节。

卡塔琳娜·博星（德国）Travellers with suitcase-31x11x19-2013

　　Katharina Böttcher

　　Katharina Böttcher was born in Hamburg, Germany, in 1951 and graduated in design in 1975. Since 1981 she has been working in her own studio, the first years producing domestic ware and teaching classes. After a stay in Scotland and one year in Arte Ceramica Tovar, Venezuela, she experimented with Raku firings in the 90’s. From 2000 onwards she has been developing the structured, matt-colored surfaces for her hand built and thrown stoneware and extended her expression in clay to figurative work. In 2002 she had a demonstration and talk at the Pottery Industrial Research Laboratory in Fukui Prefecture, Japan, and an artists’ talk at the fine arts department at Mersin University, Turkey, in 2010. In 2013 she participated in a symposium with Danish and German artists in Masnedofortet, Denmark, which was continued in 2014 in Nordfriesland, Germany, and in 2015 in Jyderup, Denmark. In 2014 she also participated in the 2nd International Art Workshop, Olympos, Turkey, and in the International Macsabal Woodfiring Symposium, Zibo, China.

　　李·麦德曼

　　他毕业于斯坦福大学，获得了物理学硕士和博士学位。在成为一名陶艺家之前，他和他的团队在高新技术产业和医药产业中开发技术产品长达25年，他拥有美国的专利超过37项，现在他的工作室位于美国加利福尼亚的波特拉谷，他全部的时间都在工作室创作作品，当评审，以及在世界各地举办展览。

李 麦德曼（美国）Jade Abora Vase-32x9x18

　　李在他的代表性的作品中摈弃了传统的形式而通过突出表面纹理赋予作品能量和活力,所形成的作品既赏心悦目又生动自然。“我所追求的是用我所创作的形体和文理来表现自然界中有序与随机之间的有机联系”。李用多种釉料来增强作品表面的动态表现。尽管他的作品是具有实用性的,更重要的是具有陈设和强有力的艺术体现及文化性。

　　李在美国的许多国家级的竞赛中,包括:“泥塑绝技”, “国家专用实用陶器”, “加利福尼亚泥塑竞赛”,“釉料和泥土的充分利用,出现的不同的艺术效果”,得到了好评。2003年李获准参加在韩国京畿道举办的世界陶瓷双年展。中国、韩国和日本的博物馆都收藏了他的作品。他将他的陶瓷艺术生涯与他对亚洲文化的强烈兴趣通过数次作为亚洲客居艺术家以及每年参加在亚洲举办的陶瓷木火节紧紧联系在一起。

李 麦德曼（美国）Winter SunFlower-直径26x14-2015

　　他的作品曾在18本出版物,包括:陶瓷月刊以及国际发行的刊物和书籍上发表,并得到好评。他曾被美国、中国、韩国和日本的电视台专访。

　　他曾任陶瓷琉璃艺术家协会会长，这个协会在美国的加利福尼亚，拥有会员500名。现在他是国际陶艺家协会联合主席，负责北美洲方面的事物，此协会的总部在中国的淄博市。

　　陶艺是他的职业，他对亚洲文化有着强烈的爱好，并受邀参加每年在亚洲举办的陶艺交流研讨会和木火节。

　　Lee Middleman

　　Lee Middleman graduated from Stanford University with a master’s degree and doctorate in Physics. Before becoming a ceramic artist, he created and led teams developing innovative products for the high technology industry and medicine for 25 years. Lee holds over thirty-seven US patents. Currently, he works full-time in his studio in Portola Valley, California and participates in juried shows and exhibitions around the world.

　　In Lee’s signature work, he creates classic forms with surface textures that give the work energy and vitality. The result is art that is both pleasing and alive. Lee seeks to create patterns and textures that explore the organic interplay between order and randomness found in Nature. He uses multiple glazes to intensify the dynamic tension in his surfaces. Although functional, his work is often prized as decorative. The work intrigues the eye and demands to be touched.

　　Lee has been recognized by many national juried competitions in the United States including “Feats of Clay,” “Strictly Functional Pottery National,” “California Clay Competition,” “Contemporary Clay Biennial,” “Clay & Glass National,” “Visions in Clay,” and “Ink & Clay.” In 2003, he was accepted into the International Competition, World Ceramic Biennale in Icheon, Korea. Museums in USA, Greece, Turkey, China, Korea, Japan, and India have collected his work. He has participated in three solo exhibitions, 49 group exhibitions in the USA and 36 international group exhibitions.

　　Lee has been featured in Ceramic’s Monthly as well as in eighteen international magazines and books. Lee has been interviewed on television in the United States, China, Korea and Japan.

　　He is an Exhibiting Member and past president of the Association of Clay and Glass Artists, a 500-member association in California. He is a founding member and Chair of the International Ceramic Artists Association headquartered in Zibo, China.

　　He combines his ceramic career with his strong interest in Asian cultures by accepting invitations to several artist-in-residencies or ceramic woodfire festivals in Asia each year.

　　穆特鲁•巴斯卡亚

　　她1969年生于艾登。1992年毕业于哈斯他帕大学美术学院陶瓷系。1994年在该大学的陶瓷系担任助教，1997年取得硕士学位，1999年成为讲师。1999年到2013年她生活在米兰，又到贝加莫Gioella Suardi工作室继续深造。2009年完成了博士课程，取得了博士学位。

穆特鲁•巴斯卡亚(土耳其) Hope-尺寸组合-2013 (2)

　　她举办过5次个人展览，获得过14个艺术类的奖项，这其中包括2009年第九届马尼萨国际陶瓷双年展的“CIUDAD DE MANISES”奖、、第四届“Opsihne的陶器”国际陶瓷研讨会上两项大奖、2013年在乌克兰举办的2013 = 13X13上获得的奖项。她参加了突尼斯、法国、意大利、哈萨克斯坦、日本、希腊、韩国、中国、立陶宛、匈牙利、西班牙、克罗地亚、奥地利、荷兰、美国、印度、泰国、乌克兰和马来西亚举办的研讨会、论坛和陶瓷考察。她在土耳其、泰国和印度组织举办了多届乐烧、纸窑烧制、埃及陶瓷研讨会。2013年她是泰国曼谷朱拉隆功大学的客座教授。她是土耳其陶瓷协会的董事会董事及土耳其陶瓷杂志的美术编辑。她是国际陶瓷艺术家协会(总部在中国)的创建人之一，也是瑞士日内瓦国际陶瓷学院的会员，还是是国际马克萨巴尔木火节在韩国、中国和土耳其的国际联络员。

　　MUTLU BAŞKAYA

　　(1969-Aydın / Turkey)

　　She graduated from Hacettepe University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Ceramics in 1992. She started to work as a research assistant in the same department in 1994. After completing her MA in 1997, she was appointed to the position of instructor in 1999. She lived in Milan between 1999 and 2003 and continued her studies in Gioella Suardi’s studio in Bergamo. She completed her Ph.D. in 2009. Başkaya has had 5 solo exhibitions and received 14 awards including the award of “CIUDAD DE MANISES” at the IX.

　　International Ceramics Biennial of Manises in 2009 and 2 award of 4th Intersymposium - Pottery in Opsihne: 2013 = 13X13 in Ukraine in 2013. Başkaya made researches and study tours, gave seminars or participated to exhibitions, symposiums and forums in Tunisia, France, Italy, Kazakhstan, Japan, Greece, Korea, China, Lithuania, Hungary, Spain, Croatia, Austria, Holland, America, India, Thailand, Ukraine and Malaysia. She arranged Raku, Paper Kiln and Egyptian Paste Workshops many times in Turkey and in abroad (Thailand and India). Başkaya worked as a guest Professor at Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok, Thailand in 2013. She is board of directors of Turkish Ceramic Society and she is art editor of Seramik Turkiye Magazine. Mutlu Baskaya, a founder member of International Ceramic Artist Association in China and she is member of International Academy of Ceramics –in Geneva, Switzerland. She is coordinator of International Macsabal Woodfiring Symposiums in Wanju- Korea, in Zibo-China and in Ankara-Turkey.
