The Desire Deep in His Heart

What I experienced most standing in front of Yang Jiayong's works？Feminine charm，or as I called jokingly, soft knife. But what exactly soft knife is? It seemingly erratic outside, but inside it has a body strong as iron, I think. Jiayong paints with an amazingly speed. It will never take so long for him to complete a painting. And most of the sizes are 3m*3m. This often makes the viewer surprised! Because, in general, works come out this way always turn to be lack of content and theirs loopholes usually appeared one after another! But it is quite strange that colleagues who tried to find some faults with tricky questions are always unlikely to achieve! Jiayong’s works combined with both depth and details. If go a step further, you can find the expression of desire, emotional catharsis, even some cultural elements are hidden in the pictures. Fluent and not exposed! How could an after 80s young artist, a youngster at the age of just 30, has such an ideological level and delicate sentiment? With these doubts, we had a deep communication. After a few months of communication and getting familiarity, I found that it is so natural and reasonable! 

 Jiayong takes the inner expression of art, the natural expression of emotion, the understanding of the essence of the cultural heritage, and the examination in an international context as the basis for the continuous improving of self improvement. Therefore, the wonderful interpretation of the works is unquestionable!

The most unique quality of Yang Jiayong's works is the "desire" in his heart！Every step of the nervous and saber – rattling brushworks is like the nerve fiber full of "desire". The impulsive buds seem to mysteriously get into the viewer's body and make them crazy. The black is strange and abstruse. And the amaranth makes "desire" clearly visible, so that you can even touch it. The depicting of the unknown shapes makes "desire" everywhere. Everything is unknown but extremely reasonable. The combination of those various factors seems like the moment when you turned to see Yang Jiayong standing there crafty smiles to you! His iconic pigtail is blown in the air without knowing it, eyes closed in a line. He, smiles slyly, be at daggers drawn, is just like a beast ready to hunt!

 The exploration of art is full of difficulties, but Yang Jiayong puts all that as to enjoy and continues to move forward. So that he can blaze a way through all manner of obstacles, and improve myself in the criticism.
