在二维平面上制造三维空间的幻觉，是绘画的原始冲动。张显飞的绘画就是要满足这种原始冲动。不仅如此，张显飞还希望画面上的虚拟空间能够与展厅里的实际空间发生关系，模糊虚拟空间与实际空间的边界，从而让人产生强烈的幻觉：画面的虚拟空间仿佛变成了展厅的实际空间，展厅的实际空间仿佛变成了画面的虚拟空间。张显飞陶醉在对空间的摆弄之中。由于具有实际空间的效果，他的画多了一个维度，与其说它们是架上绘画，不如说它们是绘画装置。不过，我们在画面上看到的远不止三维物理空间。我们还可以看到被压缩在画面中的社会空间。蜷曲在狭小空间中的人物，给我们一种强烈的挤压感。但是，画中人物并不挣扎，也不抵抗，而是平静。这种反常的表现，诱惑我们走进人物的内心，打开他们的心灵空间。由此，我们由物理空间的三维，进入了由物理、社会和心理的空间构成的另一重三维。张显飞的画给我们敞开了一个多维空间，不同的观众在不同的维度中驻足，从而形成看与被看的景观。

“Dimension – Zhang Xianfei’s Art Exhibition”

Preface

The primitive impulse of drawing is to make the illusion of three-dimensional space in a two-dimensional plane. Zhang Xianfei draws to meet this primitive impulse. Moreover, he hopes that the virtual space in the picture can interact with the actual space in the exhibition hall so that the boundary between the virtual space and the actual space can be blurred, creating strong illusions for the audiance. It seems as if the virtual space in the picture became the actual space in the exhibition hall and as if the actual space in the exhibition hall became the virtual space in the picture. Zhang Xianfei is intoxicated with the fiddling with space. Due to the effect of presenting the real space, his picture has one more dimension. These works can be called as painting devices rather than as paintings on the rack. However, what we see in the paintings is far more than the three-dimensional physical space. We can also see the social space compressed in the picture. The characters curling in the narrow space give us a strong sense of squeezing. However, these characters do not struggle or revolt. They just be there tranquilly. This abnormal behavior seduces us into entering the inner hearts of the characters and opening their soul space. Therefore, we have come from the three dimension of physical space into another three dimension constituted by physical, social and psychological spaces. Zhang’s pictures have opened a multi-dimensional space for us. Different audiences stop in different dimensions, forming the scene of looking and being looked at.
