Lam Man-Kong
( Alias: Lin Minggang)
Lin Minggang energetically engages himself in oil painting, calligraphy and art criticism. He was born in the year 1952 at Fuqing City, Fujian, and came to Hong Kong in 1978. He graduated from the Hong Kong Fine Art Academy School in 1984, went to Paris in 1990. He studied in the Ecole Nationale Superieur des Beaux-arts de Paris during the years 90-92 and spent one full year in Museé Louvre to copy from the great masters.
He has been in possession of a great love for art since young, travels a great deal, visits the great museums over the world, and dedicates himself laboriously to painting outdoors. Now he is active in the art worlds of both Europe and Asia, and member of the “La Maison des Artistes” French .
His works are collected by individuals, organizations, and museums, both local and overseas. Lin, no doubt, has been deeply influenced by the classicists and the impressionists, and places much importance on the development and refinement of his art language. He paints in a very elegant manner, and gracefully shows his emotion through landscapes. He has been described as “the human artist”, “the true colourist”, and “the oil-painter with a taste of Paris”.
