香格纳画廊将在本届Frieze艺术博览会的A13展位展出艺术家欧阳春的大型装置作品——“渣滓1999/2013”。该作品由两个部分组成,62 张独版照片,拍摄于1999 年,记录了艺术家早期“废弃物装配”系列雕塑(照片中的雕塑作品现已全部丢失);以及艺术家迄今为止最为复杂的三维作品“火山灰”(ed. 3/3,创作于2013 年),由973 件青铜雕塑组成。本次是这组作品首次以完整的形式呈现。


ShanghART Gallery will exhibit Ouyang Chun’s solo presentation which exhibits an unique, large scale sculpture and photo installation ‘Detritus 1999/2013’ at booth A13 during the Frieze London art fair. 'Detritus 1999/2013' combines all the 62 photos of Ouyang Chun's early 'Garbage Assemblage' series (photos of now lost objects, unique, 1999) with the 973 bronze sculptures of his so far most complex 3 dimensional work 'Volcanic Ash' (ed 3, 2013). It is the first time this work has been shown in the complete version.

在欧阳春的作品里面,渣滓、废弃物反复出现,垃圾是他作品中的母题之一。在艺术家的眼里,垃圾并不是人们扔掉的东西,而是人们生活涵义的原始轨迹。1998年欧阳春已经在西安独自一人坚持画画很多年,在中国西北的这座城市的边缘画画和生活。铁路连接着远方的城市,沿着铁路发现的物件、渣滓和碎屑成为了他对更加美好的生活的渴望的种子。欧阳春仔细地品位每一片渣滓, 把它们装配构成了雕塑,异想天开、灵感充沛、却又悲伤的把玩着铁路那边的大城市遗留下的碎片,对成为那边城市的一份子充满了希望。这些年,欧阳春不知搬了多少次家,照片中的这些雕塑当中的绝大部分已经散失了,保留下来的是他当年请一个朋友拍的雕塑作品的旧照片。

Detritus and wastes are recurring themes in Ouyang Chun’s works. The artist sees in garbage not what we cast out, but a prime locus of meaning in our lives. In 1998, Ouyang Chun had been painting alone in Xi'an for many years already, painting and living on the margins of this city in the NW of China. Rail lines are the link to the far away the cities, objects found along the rail lines, discarded detritus and debris become the seeds of a longing for an other, better life. Ouyang Chun relished each piece of 'garbage' carefully, built assemblage and sculptures from them, whimsical, inspired, sad and full of hope to be a part of this world, to play around with the things this world offers. Ouyang Chun moved many times and most of these sculptures got lost along the way. What’s left are the photos.

我还在西安的时候,好像是1999 年,那时有段时间我经常在城乡结合部游荡,我也经常沿着铁路往前走一直到很远,当我发现铁道沿路有各种各样被人丢弃的渣滓,而他们又是如此令人感动时,就像一个拾荒者那样用蛇皮袋子把它们捡回家欣赏,这也许就算是我做雕塑的开始。这就是我为这个展览取名为《渣滓》的原因之一。”


‘When I was still in Xi’an in 1999, I would often wander through the outskirts of the city whereit joined the countryside. I would follow the railway line far out. When I discovered rubbish, people had discarded along the line, things that left quite an impression, I picked them upand took them home in a snakeskin bag, like a scavenger. I think that might have been the beginning of my sculpting career. It’s one of the reasons I named this exhibition Detritus.

‘渣滓’这个概念是一个隐喻,在这个展览里也是一种感觉类型,代表着对周遭事物的一种简单叙述和疑虑。


‘Detritus’, on the other hand, is a metaphor: in this exhibition, it represents a kind of feeling, as well as a simple narrative and skeptical view of the objects around us.

欧阳春是中国七十年代艺术家(1974 年生于北京),他的作品呈现出一种独特的当代性,精神独立、风格多变、层次丰富,令人耳目一新,这与欧阳春的个人经历和学习艺术的方式相关,他的作品充满天真和浪漫、不事雕琢,朴实无华的笔触,每一笔都折射出艺术家充满激情与理想的创作状态。欧阳春主要个展包括:欧阳春:一粒尘埃,香格纳画廊,北京(2015);我的故事,香格纳画廊,上海(2015);孩童,今日美术馆,北京,中国(2012);呓语,余德耀美术馆,雅加达,印尼(2012);王,奥地利国家美术馆,维也纳,奥地利(2011);王,收藏家美术馆,柏林,德国(2010)等,作品被奥地利国家美术馆,龙美术馆,上海当代艺术博物馆,收藏家美术馆等多家重要艺术机构收藏。


OUYANG Chun is a Chinese artist of 1970s (b.1974 in Beijng), his works feature independent contemporaneity, various techniques and abundant gradations that refreshes the audience’s eyes. The distinctive quality benefits from his manner of practice and the oppositional attitude to the academic education. Escaping from preciosity, Ouyang Chun’s paintings seek to draw stories childishly and unadorned which mirrors his own life experiences and creating style.
