此岸——何佳个展

何佳，1982年生于内蒙古呼和浩特市，现于北京、内蒙、杜塞尔多夫居住和工作。何佳于2003年毕业于内蒙古大学艺术学院，2003-2008年就读于德国杜塞尔多夫美术学院，相继师从约尔格•伊门道夫和马尔库斯•吕佩尔茨。

晨画廊自2015年起代理艺术家作品，同年于旧址798艺术区晨画廊举办个展。此次，我们很荣幸来呈现何佳近两年的新作，并请到德国路德维希美术馆馆长贝娅特•海芬夏特女士做学术主持。

抽象的湖/ An Abstract Lake，布面油画/ Oil on canvas，100x120cm ，2017

在艺术创作中，何佳持续将中国文人绘画的写意精髓和德国表现主义的情绪表达融合在一起，构建了自己独特的绘画语境。她的作品有着女性艺术家的细腻和敏感，画中致巧若拙的形象，自由流畅的笔触，明丽轻快的色彩都给观者带来亲切美好的感受。

何佳的画大多与她的记忆有关，她在创作中重构回忆里的风景和当时所处的心理状态，一幢房子、一条蜿蜒的乡间小道、一个不知姓名的女孩、一湾湖水......她娴熟地将刹那间的色彩、光影，与人物神态、动作捕捉，营造了独特的氛围和意境。画中常出现的湖水和森林，均以众多色彩晕染而成，这是艺术家迫切热爱的自然，它们跳跃灵动，我们似乎可以感知波光粼粼中，阳光斑驳的气氛所表现的快乐热度；而作品表现出的叙事性和抽象化，又不免让人回想起艺术史和现实中的熟悉元素。

吕佩尔茨教授这样评论她的作品：何佳的画作从轮廓上给人一种可感知的神秘感。每一棵树都是一个空间，草甸和那些顶端的枝丫们把天空和大地连接在一起。在这多重背景中，光明上演着刚烈，却又展示了柔美，并赋予整个作品以希望。这是一种对闲静田园生活的浓浓向往之情，那种我们一直在寻找的田园生活。

在展出的十余件油画作品之外，我们还将展出何佳的一系列水彩作品，这是艺术家水彩的首次展示，它们将为观者打开另一个视角，展露作者隐秘的内心世界。

本次展览我们在大厅内布置了大型装置——木船和芦苇丛，与艺术家的新作内容相映成趣，互为关照，该装置亦可被视为独立作品。木船恰如何佳在艺术创作中期待到达的彼岸，从此岸出发，终将抵达。

He Jia was born in Hohhot, Inner Mongolia in 1982 and is now living and working in Beijing, Inner Mongolia and Dusseldorf. She graduated from Inner Mongolia Arts University in 2003 and continued her education in Kunstakademie Düsseldorf till 2008, where she learned afterJörg Immendorff and Markus Lüpertz.

Chen gallery has been an art agency since 2015 and held its first solo exhibition in 798 art district (at its former venue) that year. This time we are honored to present He Jia’s newworks in the past two years and invite Beate Reifenscheid, the curator of Museum Ludwig, as the academic advisor.

In her artworks, He Jia consistently merges the freehand brushwork of China’s literatipainting and the emotion of Germen expressionism, constructing her own unique painting context. Her works embody the attentiveness and sensitivity of a female artist, which provide the viewers with a cordial and pleasant feeling by its delicate characters, free and smooth touches, and bright colors.

Most of He Jia’s paintings relate to her memories. She reconstructs the scenes and the mentality at the time of the memories, which include a house, a meandering countryside path, a nameless girl or a peaceful lake. She captures skillfully the color, lighting, shadow and the expressions and moves of the characters, which appear for a moment, thus creating a unique atmosphere and artistic conception. The commonly seen lake and forest are painted with shading technique of multiple colors, which represents the nature that she loves. We can even feel the happiness and warmness from the glittering sunlight on the lake and in the forest. The narrativity and abstractness shown in her works reminds people of the familiar elements of art history and reality.

Dr. Lüpertz once shared his comment on He Jia’s works: “He Jia’s paintings leave people aperceptible sense of mystery by the contour. Each tree can be a space. The meadow and the branches on the treetop connect the land and the sky. In the multi-layered background, the light presents both strength and softness, endowing the work with hope. This is a passionate longing for the peaceful pastoral life, which we all have sought after.”

In addition to the more than a dozen of oil paintings, we will also present a series of watercolors by He Jia. This is the first show for her watercolor works, which will offer a new perspective for the viewers and reveal the inner world of the artist.

A large installation has been put up in the hall: a wooden boat and reed bushes, which correspond to and echo with the artist’s new works. This installation can be seen as anindependent work. The wooden boat represents the shore that the artist wants to reach in art creation. As she departs from this shore, she will finally reach there.

晨画廊2014年成立于798艺术区，2018年迁至草场地国际艺术区红2号院。画廊将于新址持续关注和支持当下——同时具有东方美学底蕴和国际表达能力的青年艺术家，并积极寻求与富有实验精神的策展伙伴合作。山高路远，晨画廊期待与所有致力于推动中国当代艺术发展的同仁，一路同行。

Chen Gallery was established in the year of 2014 in 798 Art District. With a new start in Caochangdi International Art District in 2018, Chen Gallery will focus more on supporting young artists with oriental aesthetics and international expression skills. We will actively seek cooperation with curators and institutions full of powerful thinking and experimental spirit. With distance afar and mountains high, Chen Gallery is looking forward to working with those who are of the same mind and dedicated to the development of contemporary Chinese art.
