泰国独立电影人阿彼察邦·韦拉斯哈古的限量精装版声音作品专辑《METAPHORS》即日起在香格纳网店上线。专辑《METAPHORS》从其2003年以来的电影和视觉作品中精心挑选了14部声音作品,包括《能召回前世的布米叔叔》、《综合症与一百年》、《热室》等。本套专辑同时附有限量签名版照片和精美画册等。
Thai filmmaker Apichatpong Weerasethakul's limited edition box set of sound works 'METAPHORS' is now available at ShanghART Online Store 'ByShanghART'. The compilation album 'Metaphors' contains 14 soundworks carefully selected from Apichatpong's past cinema and other visual works since 2003, which includes Uncle Boonmee Who Can Recall His Past Lives, Syndromes and a Century, Fever Room and more. The box set also includes limited edition photograph with signature and an exclusive hardcover book, etc.

Apichatpong Weerasethakul is recognised as one of the most original voices in contemporary cinema today. His seven feature films, short films and installations have won him widespread international recognition and numerous awards, including the Cannes Palme d’Or in 2010 with Uncle Boonmee Who Can Recall His Past Lives. ShanghART Gallery presented his first solo exhibition 'Monuments' in China in May 2017, exhibiting his video installations and photographic works created between 1994 to 2017.

自2003年以来,阿彼察邦·韦拉斯哈古保持着与几位音效设计师的合作,并一直致力于在其电影中创作具有个性的现场声乐。而在电影后期制作中,他着迷于对“现场”声音的把控,借以表达其影像世界之“真实”。这种真实并不一定表现真实声音,而更多的是再现记忆中的世界。如同他在创作中对图像的处理,阿彼察邦时常在作品中强调声音(及其设备)的物质性和脆弱感,以及对声音进行操控的过程。
Apichatpong has regularly worked with the same sound designers since 2003 and has always given importance to the personality of on-location sounds giving his films a sense of continuity. In post-production, he is fascinated by the manipulation of these ‘live’ sounds in order to express ‘reality'. This reality doesn’t necessary represent the actual sound of theplaces, but more a representation of the world in layered memories. Similar tothe way he treats images, Apichatpong sometimes calls attention to the physicality and the fragility of the audio (and its apparatus) and to the process of audio manipulation itself.

In his cinema, Apichatpong prefers natural sound sources over music. Nevertheless, he often boldly incorporates popular songs that were persistent during the shooting. He doesn't shy away from using tunes that relate to his own personal memories. In this sense, Apichatpong values the spirit of authenticity much more than rigid manipulation of audioand weaves a complex and dreamlike soundscape in his cinematic repertoire.
阿彼察邦出生于曼谷,在泰国孔敬东北部长大。他在1994开始制作电影和短片,并在2000年完成了他的第一部代表作。1998年以来,他在许多国家举办展览,现被公认为国际视觉艺术大师。荣获的艺术奖项包括沙迦双年展奖(2013)和荷兰克劳斯亲王奖(2016)等。他的电影作品富有抒情性,往往神秘而令人着迷。作品的非线性结构与记忆交织,以微妙的方式探究个人信仰和社会问题。
Born in Bangkok, Apichatpong grew up in Khon Kaen in north-eastern Thailand. He began making films and video shorts in 1994 and completed his first feature in 2000. He has also mounted exhibitions and installations in many countries since 1998 and is now recognised as a major international visual artist. His art prizes include the Sharjah Biennial Prize (2013) and the prestigious Prince Claus Award (2016), the Netherlands. Lyrical and often fascinatingly mysterious, his film works are non-linear, dealing with memory and in subtle ways invoking personal politics and social issues.
