展览介绍 | Introduction

一直往返于德国西部工业区和北京的艺术家牟桓将给大家呈现他的最新作品系列《冷却塔》。这些作品和他所居住的环境有着紧密的关联。新能源、生产、进化等元素时刻影响着艺术家的创作心境，看似具象的主题但牟桓却更突出了色彩与形式的本身。该系列作品的重心会体现在一些特殊的光线和具象形状，同时牟桓也想通过这样的形式来表达我们的地球渴望呼吸和摆脱被过度能源开发的状态。

Living in the industrial area (western part of Germany) and in Beijing (China) the artist Mou Huan is showing his new body of works, which is obviously dealing with his living environment. Energy, production, growth - all these facts may interest the artist, but the subject of his painting is about form and color itself.

In his serial working process, he focuses on one object - the cooling tower. An object which is shown with a particular light and in precise shapes transforming into abstraction. The object is to take as a political icon in a time where energy is discussed; Where the earth tries to breath and tries to get rid of badly improved methods forenergy-production. This new work is showing a political icon transformed into matters of painting.

关于艺术家 | Artist

牟桓，1959年出生于四川成都，1986年毕业于四川美术学院。1997-2000年期间在杜塞尔多夫艺术学院学习。自由艺术家，生活及工作在德国杜塞尔多夫和北京。

Mou Huan, 1959 born in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, China. 1986 , Graduated from Sichuan Academy of Fine Arts, Chongqing. 1996-1997, Visiting artist of Worpswede Studio Centre in Germany by DAAD Scholarship. 1998, Visiting artist of Vermont Studio Centre in USA by Freeman Scholarship. 1997-2000, Studied by Prof.Konrad Klapheck and Prof.Joerg Immendoff at the Academy of Fine Arts in Duesseldorf. Living and working in Duesseldorf and Beijing.
