Preface
“机器复制,开天辟地第一次把艺术品从它对仪式 寄生般的依赖中解放出来。进一步说,复制的艺术品成了为可复制性而设计的艺术品。例如,由一张照相底片,人们可以冲印无数张相片;想要一张“真实的”相片就毫无意义了。但是,一旦真实性的标准艺术创作不再适用,那么,艺术的整个功能便颠倒过来了。艺术不再以仪式为依据,而开始以另一种事业—政治—为基础了。”① 怎样理解本雅明所说的政治性?在今天,数字技术的迅猛发展,短短数十年,传统照片冲洗行业已呈现颓势,数码相机都已经被像素不断攀升的iPhone、iPad等手机拍照功能所替代,对图像的占有方式,也被诸如Facebook、微信等社交软件所更替,这种看似私密化的朋友圈却呈几何数增长的模式,使信息和图像的接受者变得无法预测。
“Copy by machines has released the artworks from the parasitic dependence of the ceremony for the very first time. It is based on another career—politics. How to understand the “political” mentioned by Walter Benjamin Nowadays, the development of digital technology is very speedy. Only a couple of years, the traditional film developing had gained a declining tendency, even the digital cameras have been superseded by the iPhone, iPad with the high pixel cameras. The occupation of images has also changed to the social APPs like Facebook of WeChat. This so-called private friends circle increased by times which allowed the accepters of information and images becomes unpredictable.
当回溯印刷术历史的时候,传统纸张、油墨和版,在今天已经是那样的古典,因为温度、湿度、带来纸张或者版的变形,又或者因为不同油墨的粘黏度,所印制出来的印刷品,也一定会有瑕疵率的出现,这种偶然性还充满了某种艺术性的温情,让我们感叹那种不确定带来的包容和审美。但当我们在手机屏幕、PC屏幕终端、iPad等视窗浏览同一网页的时候,它的一致性和稳定性,有种终结者的意味——数字和数码化的出现,0和1在这个时候取代了传统印刷所需的版,让这一切变成了理性与冷漠的编码,闪烁的屏幕取代了柔软的纸张,划动的手指节省了手臂和身体活动的弧度,这种版的变体、传统印刷的母体——当代印刷已经开始丧失它的物理性,而被彻底的工具化。
When dating back to the ancient time of printing, the traditional paper, printing ink and plate represent classics to us. Paper or printing plate might become deformed due to the temperature condition and the humidity. The printing products might have a reject rate as the degree of sticky of deferent inks varies. This contingency is full of tender of arts and let us praises the tolerance and aestheticism of uncertainty. As we are seeing the same page from the screen of mobile phones, computers or iPads, the consistency and stability have a sense of the terminator—the emerge of numbers and digital, 0 and 1 replaced the plate which was needed in the traditional printing, letting everything turn into the rational, coldness coding. The flashing screen replaced the soft paper; the sliding finger saved the moving arc of arm and body. Technology has transformed the origin of traditional print.Contemporary printing has lost its physical property and totally been instrumentalizing.
今天,不管是版画创作还是印刷手段都开始越来越多地包含多种混合手法,人们对整体文化和社会现象做出回应:互联网、电影、电视、电脑、摄像机、手机……,通过语言文字和图像的交汇来进行交流,视觉、音乐、超文本和其他各种格式实现了数码合成的图像,而数码技术也使访问其他数据库和信息源相链接,非线性的发展成为一种新的可能。
Recently, no matter the creation of printmaking or methods of printing are containing mixture ways. People give reactions to the whole culture and social phenomena in the ways of internet, movies, TVs, computers, digital cameras and mobile phones, etc. and communicate with each others in the mixture of languages and images. Vision, music, hyper text and other forms make the digital images come true. On the other hand, the digital technology linked the databases and information sources. The development of non-linearization has received a new possibility.
这次展览我们邀请了十几个国家、地区以及国内著名版画家、设计师等一百六十余件作品,试图呈现版画与印刷、传统与当代、印痕与数据化之间的亲缘关系,试图在一个根茎化、碎片化、非线性的生活、社会现实中,像炼金师一样选取各种基因不同的材料,寻找新的可能性,合成奇异之花。
In order to illustrate the kin relationships between printmaking and printing, tradition and contemporary, print code and data, we invited printmaking artists and designers from domestic and tens of countries and regions for more than 160 artworks in this exhibition. We are trying to select all kinds of materials as an alchemist to seek a new possibility and form a fantastic flower in a rooting,fragmentized and nonlinear life ..
