Ding kiln is one of the five famous kiln mouths in Song Dynasty. It is famous for its rich white porcelain. Ding kiln was created in the Tang Dynasty and is a continuation of the Xing kiln. It was flourished in the Song Dynasty and finally in the Yuan Dynasty. In addition to the white porcelain, there were also green, black and purple.
The main producing area of Ding Kiln was in Quyang County, Hebei Province. Quyang County belonged to Dingzhou in Song Dynasty, so it was called Ding Kiln. The Ding kiln of the Song Dynasty mainly used white-glazed porcelain to be fired. Its fetus was thin and light. The fetus was white and yellowish, firmer, slightly translucent, and the glaze was beige. The glaze is white and crystal clear, and many of the glazes are shaped like tear marks, which are called "wax tear marks", with a faint yellow-green color. In the thin glaze on the outer wall of the utensil, the spin marks on the tire can be seen, commonly known as "bamboo silk brush pattern". In the early Northern Song Dynasty, Ding kiln products were glazed at their mouths. In the late period, they were mostly not glazed at their mouths. They were called "mang mouths." Great feature.
