CP基金会很高兴的宣布杨少斌即将在雅加达举办他的作品展。作为一个有成就的中国艺术家，他已经在很多的国际艺术机构展出过他那些作品，我知道他为这个展览安排了很紧张的工作表，我也知道展览将会如期举行。

　　杨少斌希望在雅加达举办画展的初衷要回溯到2003年CP双年展在雅加达国家画廊开展时。为了提升双年展的知名度，组委会欢迎来自中国的艺术家来举办展览，特别是来自前卫艺术这一群体的艺术家。这些艺术家收到国际的关注在90年代初，由于中国的政治动荡，这一指向，让他们非常想通过举办展览来支持在雅加达举办的双年展。

　　一年以后，方力钧邀请CP基金会访问北京，在这次访问中，CP基金会有机会参观了方力钧，岳敏君，张晓刚，杨少斌，王广义的工作室。这次访问也为CP基金会和这些优秀的艺术家进行交流提供了难得的机会。

　　我们相信我们需要向国际介绍亚洲的艺术，我们同时也相信，介绍亚洲艺术不一定必须通过欧美，事实上，亚洲艺术家不再需要通过西方的双年展来介绍自身，因为，当下亚洲的双年展发展正呈现出欣欣向荣的景象。CP基金会希望提供一个近距离欣赏艺术家想象力的机会。艺术家们在国际上有很高的知名度，尤其是自欧美对中国艺术发展有极大的好奇心之后，尽管艺术家们时间繁忙，忙于各种展览，但在雅加达双年展准备期间艺术家们仍然交流了他们有价值的看法。同样，杨少斌也来到了雅加达。

　　CP Foundation is proud to announce that Yang Shaobin is coming to Jakarta to showcase his art. As an established artist from China, he receives a lot of offers from countless international art organizations to exhibit some of his finest works. I am sure that Yang Shaobin maintains a very tight schedule in preparing for his exhibitions and his works that will be showcased.

　　Yang Shaobin’s wish to hold an exhibitin in Jakarta dates back to The CP Open Biennale 2003 at The National Gallery in Jakarta. To promote the international Biennale event, CP Foundation has decided to welcome several artists from China, especially artists from the group “China Avant Garde”. These artists garnered international interest at the beginning of 1990 due to China’s political upheaval. The policy made them extremely eager to support the Biennale event that was held in Jakarta.

　　A year later, Fang Lijun, the leading figure among all, invited CP Foundation to Beijing. On this visit, CP Foundation had an opportunity to see the studios of Fang lijun, Yue Minjun, Zhang Xiaogang, Yang Shaobin and Wang Guangyi. The visit also provided an opportunity for the exchange of ideas between CP Foundation and these incredible artists.

　　We believe in the need to introduce Asian arts to the international arts community. We also believe that the entry of Asian arts into international arts does not necessarily translate to Asian artists moving to Europe or America. In fact, Asian artists no longer need to introduce themselves though prominent western Biennales as Asian Biennales are currently flourishing. Sharing this vision has brought CP Foundation closer the aforementioned artists from China.

　　The artists have become well-known in the international community, especially since Europe and America are very much intrigued by the growth of the fine arts in China. Despite their busy schedules and international exhibitions, the artists still value the spirit of exchanging ideas initiated during the preparation of one the Biennales in Jakarta. The same spirit has brought Yang Shaobin to Jakarta.

　　For the execution of Yang Shaobin ’s solo exhibition at the National Gallery in Jakarta, I would like to thank Fang Lijun, who plays a significant role in this exhibition. I would also like to extend my deepest gratitude to Alexander Ochs for making this exhibition possible.
