信仰的力量——自述

我的作品明显带有一种既现实又非现实的感觉，从中人们常常能想到生活中某一具体的人或某一具体的现象或某一场景再现或是历史的反思。在我们的历史生活中无数次的运动和思潮在改变和影响着我们，从而改变着我们的信仰和崇拜。人的意识形态也发生着根本的转变，作为我们人，本身又有着出奇的一致性和统一性，以至于每个人在特定的历史或环境下表现出对统一所造成的麻目和束缚而做出自然的顺从。                                   

“统一”无疑又表现出惊人的力量和煽动性，在这种力量的影响下使每个个体都表现自我精神与信念的坚定，历史就在这样的状态下不断的发展，延续，反思，批判，又发展，延续，反思，批判，而无始无终，不断循环以至于人们把历史上总结的经验用到今天。          

 在绘画手法上，我又将生活中提炼和升华的图像转化为“符号”，融入创作中，从而实现画面效果的把握和艺术观念传达出人的心理活动。反映了当代人对于自我内心的关注与个体的自我批判。              

                                                                            

 

 

 

The Power of Faith - My Words

I believe when people looking at my art works, it's obvious that my works are surreal, but in another sense, they are real. And I also believe that people can somehow relate the details of my works to themselves. Some people, some things, some emotions and feelings they had, some scenarios in their lives, or aspects of history in their minds.

 

China is known for her 5000 years of history, for her people, or perhaps for the people in every corner of the world, all of us, from accepting the reality to questioning the reality, from realizing the need and wishing for a change to revolution. Our beliefs have been changed from time to time, influenced by all the events that have happened and what's now happening, tiny or gigantic, regardless.

 

Human beings live in a society; in fact all of the individuals formed and created our society. There is a natural sense of uniform standard, therefore, under a certain period of time and circumstance, people just seem blindly comfortable with all the visible and also invisible 'rules', or even can't realize that some of them are 'shackles'. That's our belief.                     

 

Still, human beings are born to be aware of their own aspirations, all of us under the same influence who have 'similar' mindset, yet different. All the individuals together keep on marching, thinking, questioning, challenging, changing and involving; we make our history keeps going, never stops. Then we could get inspired and learn from the past. That's also our belief.  

              

Here, emphasis on the way of expression and the technique of Art, my mind is always embedded in ordinary life and perhaps our cultural traditions. I refine life with my instinct and put them on canvas as 'symbols', therefore that's my way of not just making my Art looked as how they look, but also delivered the senses of how I see and feel about life. It should represent 'me' as an individual is aware of the 'I' of the present moment, it should also represent the beauty and the ugly of that awareness. And that's my belief.
