此金币呈圆形，色泽金黄，正面中央圆圈内镌"光绪金币"四个字，圈外左右两侧分镌"乙巳"二字，外圆上方甘肃省造，下方库平重一两。金币背面中央镌"一两"二字，两侧镌双龙戏珠图案，两条龙的背部和龙腹部分别镌有三团云朵，下端镌海浪图案。光绪金币双龙一两是由清政府度支部设计和正式铸行的清代标准金币之一。因为铸额小，传世稀罕，它当年的实际铸造量其实并不多，能完好流传保存至今的，少之又少，罕见至极，具有很高的收藏价值。
