在接受采访时，奈良美智 (Yoshitomo Nara)曾说说：“公元1959年12月5日。从这个令人敬爱的太阳系第三颗行星诞生下来的日子开始，虽然我活了下来，但总有一天绝对会面临死亡。因为我明白这是必然，所以我并不悲伤，因此在这有限的生命里，我希望能够一直画下去。”
