拼贴手法的应用，让Wood的艺术多了一份轻松与跳跃。

晃眼看去，Wood 的作品有几分马蒂斯的影子，又或者类似霍克尼早期作品的感觉。画中压缩的空间，紧密的构图，不同质感的素材重叠堆砌在油画或纸本材质上；他笔下绿意盎然的独特房间，却有截图的感觉，展现自成一派的风格。他在素描、拼贴画、水彩及油画中，以花盆及花瓶的轮廓勾勒风景及室内的景物。彩绘花瓶与中性色调的背景形成鲜明对比，瓶上绘有绿草如茵的高尔夫球场、稀有鱼类穿梭的珊瑚礁、苍翠茂密的花园及画家工作室等场景，但所有场景延伸至花瓶边缘便会突然消失。

而这又似乎吸取了版画的某些特点以及处理方法，使得Wood在画面构成上独具韵味。

Kusaka来自日本，在创作上自然带有日本传统文化特点。

她创作的陶器承袭日本石器及瓷器的传统，破天荒地融合铁器时代的陶瓷工艺、简约主义的重复手法及古埃及的泥陶器具风格，并结合细致的凹凸纹理及其他表面效果，配以犹如雷龙的长柄或雨水般的蓝色花纹，透现无穷新意。同时，她以釉彩在部分作品添上不规模的格纹，纵横交错的线条为几何图案注入柔美感觉，而后身上釉陶器的颜色则从深绿色渐变至白色，清新悦目。

这样的作品，不管在什么场合都相当引人注目。

作为生活伴侣与艺术创作伴侣，相互的影响当然是必不可少的！

当 Kusaka 的瓶瓶罐罐作为一个造型要素进入伍德的绘画，其蕴涵的层次再次得到丰富。伍德所画的室内植物无非是些盆栽，本来最多只是画法更当代一些的静物画而已。但是当他进一步将大千世界的种种事物—绿草如茵的高尔夫球场、稀有鱼类穿梭的珊瑚礁、苍翠茂密的花园甚至自己工作室的室内场景—百无禁忌地画在这些作为花盆的器皿上面，实际上造成了一种有趣的反差：花盆与盆栽是否真的只是一些室内的实用器物吗？从某种程度上看，是否都有各自的指代与指向？

从伍德稍早的作品看，绘画风格是一脉相承的，但画面视点却更多集中于单一空间，总体上还是有些“小清新”意味的室内画，描绘房间里林林总总的事物，以及更主要的，房间这个封闭空间本身，显得相当私人化、自传化。但是在与妻子陶艺的充分互动中，他得以对自己的绘画有所超越。通过并置与拼贴，视点变得多元；画笔集中到比房间更细小的事物—盆栽，以及最多，一架子盆栽—上面，却一举越出了房间的局限，那一株株植物竟有某种“振翅欲飞”之感，似乎时刻准备挣脱羁绊，回归自然；正是通过这样的姿态、这样的“借代关系”，盆栽植物一方面打开“私”的空间，一方面又反过来将真正的自然生命力引入室内。

人有时候，会慢慢将身边美好的事物遗忘，只记得他方的美，却忘了脚下的也毫不逊色。

伍德的画笔，正是在绘画、盆栽、器物、房间与外部自然这一个个层次间架设通感的桥梁，试图唤醒那些被现代城市生活愈来愈彻底工具化的事物。一个真正的诗人，在面对森林大海和面对花盆鱼缸时，都能感受到生命的神奇、生命力的律动。

所以，我们看到他们所呈现出来的美，自然，发自内心。

“一沙一世界，一花一天堂”，最美好的生活不过如此。

2015年1月16日，香港高古轩画廊隆重呈献Jonas Wood与Shio Kusaka首个香港作品展——Blackwelder，展出两位艺术家的精彩近作。

结庐在人境，而无车马喧。

问君何能尔，心远地自偏。

采菊东篱下，悠然见南山。

山气日夕佳，飞鸟相与还。

此中有真意，欲辨已忘言。

借用陶渊明 的诗用作为结尾。

生活很悠然，很自由，像他们一样热爱生活，艺术和诗歌都将一生陪伴。

关于艺术家

Jonas Wood，1977 生于波士顿，于洛杉矶定居及从事艺术创作。以往举行的个展包括洛杉矶汉默美术馆(Hammer Museum)(2010 年);纽约 Lever House 的“Jonas Wood: Clippings”(2013–14);High Line Art 的“Jonas Wood: Shelf Still Life”(2014);以及 LAXART Facade (2014)。

Shio Kusaka，1972 生于日本，于洛杉矶定居及从事艺术创作。她的作品曾于纽约惠特尼美国艺术博物馆“2014 年惠特尼双年展”(2014) 及世界各地展出。
